Tyler was so amazing, he nailed the exact vibe we wanted and I literally didn’t leave the dance floor all night because of how good the music was. During our wedding planning process, my husband and I agreed that hiring the right DJ was essential. Music was one of the most important aspects of our wedding, and we found out about Cage + Aquarium through our wedding reception venue.

We're incredibly fortunate to have booked our wedding reception with Cage + Aquarium, and we were matched with DJ Michael Rodriguez (DJ Mykol), and we were absolutely blown away by his performance! DJ Mykol clearly understood our music preferences, and skillfully and seamlessly transitioned the music throughout the entire wedding reception. He was also extremely helpful and supportive, and was accommodating with last-minute changes to our wedding details and announcements, and he was extremely kind and generous - especially when we were stressing out on the big day.

DJ Mykol did an outstanding job with the music selection, and the dance floor was just packed the entire night, and he knew exactly how to read the room! We can't say enough how glad we were to have worked with Cage + Aquarium and Michael. From start to finish, everyone was communicative, responsive, friendly, and made sure that every detail was just right.

The Cage + Aquarium were a breeze to work with for our wedding! You can tell their passion for providing quality deejay and emcee services. Shelley was quick to respond to any inquiries we had and it was very easy having to deal with a wedding date change due to COVID. The team was more than willing to spend any amount of time with us in preparation of our wedding day. Michael (DJ Mykol) was amazing!

I could not have asked for a better DJ and emcee. He listened so carefully to everything we mentioned and was very detailed when providing feedback. He even did a mash up of Taylor Swift for me and it made the day so special. He was calm and organized and everything went seamless related to sound/music/emceeing.

Our dance floor was packed the entire night - had a great mix of old school, 90's/2000's and new music. All ages were dancing.

Also worked great with the other vendors to communicate timeline for the day of. Trevor from his team was also a huge help - he helped us keep everything on track from the speeches to helping find my bouquet for the bouquet toss.

I hope to have another event that I can use C+A at - I would give more stars if possible!

Nathan aka DJ Ligo from C+A was INCREDIBLE!

We hired C+A as part of our venue package after reading great reviews. They could not have picked a more perfect DJ for us and our wedding! Nathan met with us via Zoom before the event and went over all the music selections thoroughly. We weren’t sure what specific artists we wanted, but he was able to pick up on us as a couple and provided recommendations based on what we like/dislike.

I am a big Swiftie and my husband loves the National. The first song during cocktail hour was their collab track - when I heard this I knew it was going to be a great night. Nathan played all our must plays and none of our do-not-plays. He even checked in with us during the reception when guests requested songs that didn’t quite fit the room. I’ve gotten so many compliments on the music and people saying “it was banger after banger!”

We wanted a millenial dance party and that’s exactly what we got. Nathan even got our guests in their 70s to dance to WAP and Ludacris. Wish I had another wedding to hire him for! He kept the party going and it was so fun!

Justin and his second DJ (Michael) were so wonderful to work with.

As a total music snob, I gave minimal direction and put a ton of trust in them, and they completely delivered by providing a reception set list that catered to so many different parts of our crowd—the right number of songs for parents and older folks to dance to, the right vibe and tone for the modern songs that I wanted, reading the room very well.

We were so impressed by the way that the initial survey totally captured the vibe that we wanted, too. I specifically charged Justin with a request to incorporate more Afrobeats into the set list and they did it to perfection.

I will NEVER, EVER forget the way that they blended “Toast” by Koffee with that funky lo-fi beat; it fed my soul.

Finally, I just so appreciated both of them coming up to me and Ezra during the night and speaking with us and sharing their own words of gratitude and encouragement and how much they were enjoying our wedding too.

Neville was AMAZING. Extremely accommodating and was able to flow with the changes through the night with ease. We made a last minute addition to our opening speeches (we brought our own projector) and Neville was able to set it up with no issues and it was a huge success.

Another major thing was working out how my dad was going to play his saxophone. A few weeks prior, Neville worked with us to assure that my dad was going to be set up just fine, with his saxophone next to the speakers, and his stand propped up with his iPad ready to play his accompaniment music. Again, another very last minute change (during the big day itself) happened where my dad felt more comfortable playing inside the venue versus the outside space which was the original plan. Neville and my dad talked and again, Neville was fantastic at making it work. He was so happy with how it went, my dad personally emailed Neville thanking him for a great job.

Outside of those things, everyone LOVED the music that was played.

Also, me as the bride kept running up to him to play different songs (from our requested list) and he would play them immediately, with fantastic transitions that felt smooth and organic.
